The impression of ridges with friction in the palm of the hands is called as fingerprints. God has created human beings with beautiful features. Many may have similar eye lashes; hairstyle and even a twin will look alike. So in order to differentiate one from other he made a small difference. It is miracle to know no one in the world has similar palm ridges. These ridges are sometime called as” dermal Papillae“or “dermal ridges”. The fingerprint identification also called palm print identification is generally used for comparison of same impression of finger or palm for identification.

In early nineteenth century fingerprints are used by the police prosecutors to find the criminal as well as the victims who are involved in the crime. The techniques involved in the method of comparing the palm print are very simple. It is common feature that even identical twin won’t have similar palm prints. This was found by ancient Babylonians. The fingerprint can also be used for security purpose. You might have seen in many films millionaires used to keep their safety belongings in locker. The technique is just simple. The lock gets opened only if the system identifies the palm print belongs to the owner of the locker. So many recent technologies are developing by using fingerprint technique. You may also design your house lock and key based on fingerprint techniques. Chinese people use this as an authentication and it is the only way of identifying people in china. So the use of fingerprints is not only for identifying the criminals by using it as evidence but it can also be used for some technical purpose.
